Pirate Polar Badgers

Or should I say Bi-Polar badgers, hahahahaha (insane laughter). Ok, no I shouldn't say that. A great weekend, met with Monsieur Briggs for the first time in a while and had a few drinks, OK a shed load of drinks. We put the world to rights and discussed all things mechanical and rally related, great night cheers matey. The upshot was that I realised that even though the destination fro our trip next year has changed from Mongolia to Murmansk and our mode of transportation has changed from a Honda Cub 90 to an as yet undefined car, there is still a great deal of planning to do.

The launch party for the Rally season next weekend near Exeter, many questions will be answered and a great many more will be raised no doubt. I am hoping that I will get a general feel for the Murmansk trip. Googling the ultimate highlight, the zenith of the journey, The Rybachi Peninsular, returns very little. There are a few videos on You Tube and a precious few images but essentially this area, only opened to the outside world a couple of years ago by the Russian government, was once a military frontier but was abandoned when the iron curtain collapsed. This wilderness within the Arctic circle is now bereft of living human influence, the once busy military establishments now empty and bleak. Pirate Badgers aim to visit as many as possible and document one of the last wild areas in the Northern hemisphere.
